NURES is a remarkable nuclide removal system that removes extremely efficiently radioactive nuclides from radioactive waste.The system is designed for removal of cesium, cobalt, strontium and antimony. Nures is simple and cheap techique to reduce large quantities of waste. It reduces significantly the need for interim and final storage space and radiation doses. It leaves only inorganic waste and is robust to the liquid characteristics.
The system has been sold worldwide and is in active use at different nuclear facilities in the U.K., United States and Japan.
A solidification facility processes the liquid waste generated during nuclear power plant operation into a form disposable into a repository. Both intermediate and low-level waste can be processed.
Radioactive waste is solidified with cement and additives into waste containers made out of reinforced concrete. The waste characterics influence the solidification method chosen. Any liquid radioactive waste derived during power plant decommissiong can also be processed at a solidification plant.
UF6 transfer facility is used for safe feeding of uranium hexafluoride (UF6) from a shipping container to a process or to another container. UF6 transfer facility consists of an autoclave where the UF6 shipping containers stored during transfer.
UF6 transfer facility delivery includes a full system with design, engineering, manufacturing, testing of equipment and final commissioning. The equipment consists of autoclaves, automation and process equipment and if needed, also containments, cooling system, and equipment needed for shipping container handling.
